When deciding on a checkout vendor, PayPal was our first choice. Many people are familiar with PayPal, and the checkout process is pretty straight forward. So why do we are we using Google Checkout? Well, for one, it's one step to donate $1 or any other amount you choose. With PayPal, doing the same was a two-step process.

Second, Google's fees are a bit less than PayPal's. Not by much, but the goal of the Foundation is to donate as much as we can to charity. So, if we can save a few cents in order to donate more, why not?

Please know that Google Checkout is completely secure, and backed (obviously) by Google, one of the most well known and respected online vendors.
